Muthu’s is open for lunch from Wednesday through to Sunday from 11.30 - 3pm. Come and enjoy a delicious authentic South Indian or Malaysian inspired lunch, eat in or take away.

To compliment your dining experience, Muthu has commissioned well known Wellington-based wine advisor Francis Auclert, to match wines and beers to his culinary creations.
Chef Muthu hails from a small village called Seelathikulam in the South Indian district of Tirunelveli. Young Muthu was inspired into the kitchen by his mother at a tender age of 12. He used to help her with preparations and then slowly started cooking independantly. Even at that age, he was never afraid of improvising.
He followed his passion and studied a Bachelor of Hotel Management & Catering Technology at SRM in Chennai. It equipped him with an understanding of the hospitality industry and how to blend modern technology with his homegrown culinary skills.
Having gained experience, Muthu joined the popular Malaysian restaurant Roti Chenai as their chef. He fell in love with Malaysian cuisine, as he found a lot of parallels to his South Indian origins. While there, he mastered the art of making Roti Canai, a flatbread dish popular in Malaysia. He has created several of his own signature dishes based on it.
His dream of offering a unique variety of dishes based on South Indian and Malaysian cuisines gave birth to Muthu's Restaurant. Muthu welcomes you to enjoy an authentic dining experience with a touch of sophistication and genuine hospitality.
